Bruno Pernadas — Lisbon composer, guitarist and producer — brings his psychedelic jazz / indie-pop set to The Jazz Cafe in Camden on Thursday 10 September 2026.
Expect vintage synths, brass, fuzzy guitar and layered vocals drifting through tightly crafted songs that move between English and Brazilian Portuguese. Useful reference points if you do not know the records yet: BadBadNotGood, Stereolab, Air.

The Jazz Cafe sits on Parkway in Camden Town and has been a fixture of London's live music circuit since 1990. What started as a dedicated jazz room is now one of the city's best-known mid-size venues, with a standing floor downstairs and a restaurant balcony that looks straight onto the stage — the same bill works as a loud night out or a seated meal.
The two-level layout is what makes it good for events: an intimate capacity, clear sightlines from the balcony, and a professional PA in a room that still feels like a club rather than a hall. Programming runs well beyond straight-ahead jazz — soul, funk, hip-hop, world music, singer-songwriters and left-field pop all pass through regularly — so a typical week mixes heritage names with new bookings.
Camden itself is the other reason to go. The venue is a few minutes from Camden Town station and a short walk from the market and the canal, which makes it an easy stop on a night out rather than a destination you have to plan around. If you want a classic London gig in a room with its own character, this is one of the reliable ones.
